We have commenced construction of our new kitcar the SC 540, the car has been designed to use most of the components from one donor vehicle, the donor car being the BA Series Ford Falcon sedan, and the list of parts will include the front and rear suspension units, the complete braking system including ABS, motor and transmission, either 6 cylinder or V8, power steering system, cooling system, pedal assembly, handbrake, T bar, instrument panel, body hardware, and most importantly the complete wiring harness, computers and electronic control modules. The finished vehicle will have all the refinements of current production vehicles and will comply with all emission and registration requirements.
The chassis is of monocoque design is completely constructed from aluminium and has all the necessary brackets and mount points for the Ford components.
The body panels are produced with high quality polyester resins and
chopped strand glass mat they are completely handlaid to ensure quality
and uniform thickness
The bodyunit comes to you assembled with all panels fitted and/or hinged and locks fitted, windscreen is fitted, the unit has been designed so that all body panels can be removed for painting, the assembly of the mechanical items can be completed and the car driven and tested while the body panels are off the car.
